Our Work
- When the customer brought in the Cookbook the outer cover was completely separated from the text block, the spine was missing, and there had been extensive tape repairs. The inner book had sections that had fallen apart and many pages had become fairly shredded after many years of use in deteriorating condition.
-
We proceeded to remove the old tape, make a new spine in an appropriate shade of tan imitation leather, and gold stamp the title on the spine. We then attached the new spine to the existing covers which kept the cookbook looking as much as possible like it always had. The loose sections were sewn and many damaged pages were repaired to prevent future damage. Finally, new end sheets were made and fresh glue and reinforcing cloth were applied before casing in to finish the job. The result? The customer loved her refurbished cookbook! "Thank you so very much for doing such a nice job on my cookbook. You made me very happy." Emma Piatt.
